THE TEAM

He currently holds a Master of Arts in Education from Western Colorado University and a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science from the University on Northern Colorado. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a Licensed Professional Teacher. Coach Smith has worked with over a thousand tactical athletes and athletes from all sports ranging from youth to professional, including NFL & NFL Pro Day Prep, Colligate, Highschool and Middle School. During his time as the Platoon Sergeant of Q Battery 5/14 (HQ) he aided Marines with their physical preparedness as a Fitness Liaison. Ian has spoken at multiple conferences and professional developments on topics ranging from movement patterns, athlete development to personal health.

Operations Manager/Owner
Prior to owning and operating Mountain Speed and Strength, Hope worked as a Licensed School Counselor in Thornton, CO. She holds a Master of Arts in School Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Hope has a passion for helping people in all facets of their life from mental health to physical fitness.

Ian is a purposeful and passionate coach with a strong desire to help the athletes in his care grow beyond just reps and sets.

He currently holds a Master of Arts in Education from Western Colorado University and a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science from the University on Northern Colorado. I am a passionate and dedicated fitness professional with a strong commitment to empowering others, especially women, to achieve their full potential. With over six years of experience as a barre fitness instructor, two years as a classical Pilates apprentice, and multiple trail half marathons and road biking events under my belt, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my coaching.

I hold an Associate of Arts degree and am a proud Phi Theta Kappa member, which reflects my commitment to excellence both academically and professionally. My certifications include:

B.S. in Exercise Science | Strength Specialist | Arm Wrestling AficionadoWhen it comes to building strength, speed, and grit, Coach Chad brings the boom. With a B.S. in Exercise Science and years of experience training middle school, high school, and collegiate athletes, Chad knows how to turn potential into performance.

A former defensive lineman for Mesa University, Chad’s no stranger to hard hits and heavy lifts. Whether you’re learning to squat for the first time or chasing a new PR, he’s your go-to guy for explosive power, smart programming, and a little friendly banter.

When he’s not coaching, you’ll find him lifting something heavy for fun-or arm wrestling anyone brave enough. With Chad, every session is high-energy, dialed-in, and just the right amount of laughing.

JULIA

Julia holds a Master's in Sports Medicine and has advanced training as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and in Functional Movement Screening. With a background as an athletic trainer at Division I universities, including CU Boulder and UMass Amherst, she has worked with high-level athletes to optimize performance, prevent injuries, and support recovery. Outside the gym, you'll find Julia running, snowboarding, or lifting. Oh, and she also happens to be an arm wrestling champion!

A D1 lacrosse commit to High Point University, Addison knows what it means to stay locked in, even when life gets hectic. She also happens to hold the girls’ speed record at Mountain Speed, Strength & Fitness.
