Before starting Mountain Speed, Strength, and Fitness, I had nearly a decade of experience working in fitness with a wide range of people: from general population clients to high school and middle school students, collegiate athletes, tactical athletes, and even a few professional athletes. Each group came with its own unique challenges and rewards, but I genuinely loved working with each one. One of my favorite experiences was working with middle & high school students and watching them develop into young adults. Teaching was incredibly fulfilling, but balancing that career with family life became increasingly difficult, especially after I became a father to two young boys. I wanted to spend more time with my family, which ultimately led me to a crossroads in my career, which lead me to start Mountain Speed, Strength & Fitness. Since this change I have been blessed with some truley wonderful parents and members of the Evergreen community. The biggest realization that I didn’t want to work with only athletes, I wanted to work with folks that are motivated and excited to achieve their goals, because that excitment permiates through everything we do and gives focus to training.
Build a Community and Do Things the Right Way
Starting my own business was something I’d always dreamed about because it would allow me to approach fitness coaching in a way that truly aligned with my values. I wanted to create a space where training was done the right way—from carefully planned programs to effective workouts delivered by skilled, dedicated coaches. At Mountain Speed, Strength, and Fitness, my goal was to:
- Develop programs that prioritize quality and long-term progress
- Compensate coaches meaningfully, recognizing their skill and dedication
- Build a supportive, local community centered on growth and health
- Provide a top tier quality service to our community
Creating this business allowed me to contribute to the community I grew up in, giving back to the place and people I love.
Growing a Community of Resilience and Strength
Since launching, Mountain Speed, Strength, and Fitness has grown rapidly, and every day has been an incredible experience. I get to coach motivated, inspiring clients and work alongside skilled coaches who share my passion for fitness. Every day, I am able to develop my own skills as a coach, trainer, and leader while helping others achieve their fitness goals.
Our mission at Mountain Speed, Strength, and Fitness is to help people build resilience, both physically and mentally, so they can face any adversity life throws their way. Fitness isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling strong and capable, both in and out of the gym. Life isn’t easy for anyone, but the community we’ve built provides people with the support they need to face life’s challenges with confidence and strength.
Looking Ahead
In the years to come, my goal for Mountain Speed, Strength, and Fitness is to continue expanding our community and strengthening the relationships within it. I want this gym to be a place where people of all ages and backgrounds feel welcome and supported as they work toward their goals. I believe that building strength—both physically and mentally—translates into every area of life, helping people live fuller, healthier lives.
Starting this business has been the hardest, but one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I get to contribute to my community, support my family, and do work that I’m genuinely passionate about every day. I look forward to helping more people discover their potential, gain strength, and find the confidence they need to live life to the fullest. Mountain Speed, Strength, and Fitness is more than a gym; it’s a community dedicated to growth, resilience, and the pursuit of health and happiness.
