The Tool That Transformed My Body More Than Any Other

With over a decade of experience in strength and personal training, I’ve tested just about every strategy under the sun—high-intensity workouts, new programs, cuts, bulks, restrictive challenges, the works.

And while many of those things can work, there’s one tool that’s had a bigger impact on my results than anything else I’ve tried.

It’s not a supplement.
It’s not a secret program.
It’s not even a nutrition plan.

It’s just this:
Building and tracking a streak.

What’s a Streak, and Why Does It Work?

A “streak” is exactly what it sounds like:
Every time you do a habit—whether that’s eating enough protein, getting in your workout, drinking your water, or eating your veggies—you check it off.

Do it again tomorrow? Your streak continues.
Do it again the next day? It grows.
Hit a week? Now you’ve got momentum.

You go from:

  • Day 1
  • To Day 3
  • To a full week
  • To a month
  • Then two months…

And eventually, you’re three months in, and your body has changed—for real.

If you can string together 90 days of consistent action on almost any meaningful habit (movement, nutrition, recovery, environment), you’ll see measurable results.

The momentum you build is unreal…

Consistency is King

I’ve reached streaks over 100+ days for some of my top habits.

That consistency hasn’t just helped my mindset—it’s transformed my results:

  • Combining my strength training with a protein and water streak I added 8.5 lbs of muscle in 6 months
  • Adding in a veggie streak, my cholesterol dropped by over 60 pts in less than a year
  • Focusing on a home making project everyday, I’ve been able to chip away at small tasks around the house consistently

And the best part?
It didn’t come from doing “everything right.”
It came from doing something right—every day.

Why Streaks Matter More Than Motivation

Motivation fades. You know that.

There are days where you’re tired. Days where you’re cranky. Days where everything else comes first.

And those are the days when streaks shine.

Because once you’ve built up 30, 60, 100+ days in a row of doing something consistently, you don’t want to break it.

That little hit of momentum becomes invested energy. You’ve built something, and you’re not about to throw it away for a skipped workout or skipped salad.

A streak makes it easier to act, even when you don’t feel like it.

What Habits Are Worth Tracking?

Start simple. You don’t need 10 different checkboxes.
Pick 1 or 2 habits you want to build, and track those for a month before adding others.

Some of the best streaks I’ve seen lead to body and lifestyle transformation include:

  • ✅ Eating 4–8 servings of protein/day
  • ✅ 3 Strength workouts/week (weekly goal)
  • ✅ 4 servings of veggies/day
  • ✅ Drinking 64–100 oz of water
  • ✅ Making your bed or tidying a room you care about

What am I tracking right now?

As a 225 pound rugby player, father of 3 who’s goal is to build strength, muscle & endurance and shed body fat. This is exactly what I track every day. These are based on my macros, activity level and goals.

3 Strength Training Sessions/Week

Daily Check List

  • ✅6+ big servings of veggies
  • ✅9 servings of protein
  • ✅7 servings of carbohydrates
  • ✅7 servings of fats
  • ✅8+ 8-oz glasses of water

Even though I am technically on a “weight loss diet” it is a tremendous amount of food. I started off by tracking just veggies & protein, then I added water after a few weeks and fats and carbs after a few months.

My Favorite App for This: Habit Tracker

I’m not sponsored. I just really like it.

I use the Habit Tracker app, and it’s honestly the best couple bucks I’ve ever spent on an app.

I can track multiple different habits—everything from training and water to how much time I spend improving my home.

Final Thoughts: Consistency is the magic sauce

We all love the big, exciting 30-day challenges and rapid results. But the truth is, most real transformation doesn’t happen in 30 days.

It happens when you quietly chip away, little by little, for 90, 100, 150 days in a row.

That’s when your body changes.
That’s when your mind resets.
That’s when it becomes part of who you are.

So if you’re feeling stuck—don’t go harder.
Just go longer. (Just keep swimming)

Pick one habit.
Track it.
Stack your streak.
And let the quiet, boring magic of consistency change everything.
