If you’ve ever tried to define what it means to be “healthy,” you’ve probably realized pretty quickly…
It’s not that simple.
When we’re younger, it feels straightforward:
- Play sports
- Stay active
- Don’t get hurt, but if you do it’s not that big a deal
And for the most part, that works.
But as we get older, things start to well…. break down.
We notice:
- Recovery takes longer
- Joints get a little crankier
- Activities we love feel just a bit harder
And suddenly, “being healthy” or fit becomes a much bigger question.
It’s Not Just About Living Longer
Most people focus on lifespan — how long we live.
But what really matters is healthspan — how well we live.
Because the goal isn’t just to make it to 80.
The goal is to:
- Ski without worrying about your knees
- Hike without your back tightening up
- Play with your kids (or grandkids) without hesitation
- Stay active in the mountains for decades
Living longer is great.
But living well while you’re here?
That’s the real goal.
The Problem: “Fitness” Is Too Vague
The word “fitness” gets thrown around a lot.
But what does it actually mean?
- Strong?
- Flexible?
- Good cardio?
Most programs pick one or two of those and run with it.
But real, well-rounded health is more layered than that.
It’s not just one quality.
It’s a combination of several things working together.
What We’ve Been Working On
Over the past few years, this is something we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about:
What actually makes someone capable for living life on their terms at any age?
And most importantly what does the research say?
Not just today…
But 10, 20, 30 years from now.
Because in Colorado, that matters.
We don’t train just to look good.
We train so we can:
- Ski longer
- Hike farther
- Hunt, play, and explore
- Stay active and keep up with our families
And that requires more than just strength or cardio.
A Small Peek Behind the Curtain
Without giving too much away just yet…
We’ve been breaking this idea of “well-rounded health” into a few core areas:
- Lifespan & Healthspan
- Durability
- Longevity
- Agility
- Aerobic Capacity
- Mobility
- Relative & Weight Baring Strength
Each of these plays a different role in how your body performs — and more importantly, how it holds up over time.

Why This Matters
The challenge is…
Most people don’t know where they stand in any of these areas.
They’re working hard.
They’re showing up.
But they’re still asking:
“Am I actually getting better?”
And more importantly:
“Am I getting better in the ways that actually matter for my life?”
Where This Is Going
This is something we’ve been building toward for a long time.
A way to:
- Define what well-rounded health actually looks like
- Measure it
- And help you train with purpose
Not just for the next workout…
But for the next 30 years.
We’re excited to share more soon.
